I understand you’d want to open up any DXF files on your own website. But if you’re interested, Autodesk has a free browser-based CAD viewer that can easily handle DXF files – https://viewer.autodesk.com/

If you want to apply a hatch on all instances of the block, you’ll have to edit the block itself. If you only want to make a hatch to one specific instance, add it how you normally add hatches.

Generally, these two releases aren’t too different. From my own experience using AutoCAD these past years, the biggest leap recently was 2015 to 2016 just in terms of UI. In general though, nothing too big recently.

Asked on September 18, 2020 in DraftSight.
Draftsight isn’t available for free anymore but yes, it’s a lot cheaper than most other CAD software. If you have zero budget however, there are other free software that might prove useful to you. First things first though, what exactly are you looking to achieve with Draftsight?

Honestly, it might be worth investing in a PC later on. Not only will you be able to natively run AutoCAD Windows without having to use BootCamp, you’ll also be able to upgrade your hardware much more easily.

You might need to be more specific with the issues you’re experiencing on AutoCAD on Mac. Although I personally use PC, I know a bunch of other licensed architects that have been using a Mac for their AutoCAD needs since our college days.

Asked on September 9, 2020 in SketchUp.
SketchUp has a nice “Match Photo” tool that should help with this. It doesn’t automatically create the model for you, but it lines up your reference photo with your 3D model so that you can model right over it. Just access Camera > Match New Photo.

You can absolutely use SketchUp to do some interior design. I personally know several licensed interior designers who use SketchUp as their go-to modelling program.
SketchUp’s website has its own handy guide to starting with the program – https://help.sketchup.com/en/sketchup/introducing-drawing-basics-and-concepts

Upwork is great! I’ve been using it since my college days and has gotten me a pretty consistent stream of income through CAD and 3D modeling gigs.
Alternatively, you could try contacting firms directly. By the very nature of CAD drafting, it’s fairly easy and straight-forward to do remote work. A lot of companies appreciate that sort of initiative; just make sure you have a fairly good resume and preferably a letter of recommendation if you get one.

A big question would be why you would want to disable the command in the first place? Is there something specific you want to achieve by doing that?
