What part of my PC needs to be upgraded to make hatching work better?

Some of the more complex hatches (like stacked stone) slow my computer down a ton when I’m trying to edit or place them.

My PC has an i5 6600k, a gtx 750ti graphics card, 20gb ddr4 ram, and a msi z170-a pro motherboard.

Dear Nadrius,

Unfortunately this is a problem that we all suffer from so here’s what you need to do to Improve hatching:

    • Turn off Preview option.

    • Create hatches by Pick Object rather than Pick Point.

    • Use closed polylines.

    • Use a simpler pattern for hatching.

    • Try to use the “Select object method” when hatching rather than the “pick” method.

The main computer onboard the starship Enterprise might be able to handle it.

In seriousness though, in my experience it may be more of a coding issue than a computing power issue. I’ve seen hatches slow down every machine I’ve used AutoCAD on to some extent.

I’ve found it easier to create a Solid fill hatching first and then edit the hatching later on.
