    Issue:

On a system with integrated graphics (mostly laptops), your AutoCAD-based product uses the integrated graphics adapter instead of the advanced or discrete graphics card.

    Causes:

The technology for the dual video configuration is called “Optimus” by NVIDIA and “Enduro” or “Dynamic Switchable Graphics” by AMD. The problem occurs because the switching software chooses the wrong GPU for AutoCAD.

    Solution:

To avoid this behaviour in AutoCAD 2016, apply Hotfix 4 that can be downloaded from the following link.

    • Accumulated hotfix 4 for AutoCAD 2016 based products

To avoid this behaviour in AutoCAD 2017, install the 2017.1.2 Update that can be found in the Autodesk Account:  Install Updates, Add-ons, and Enhancements

If you are using an earlier or later release, apply the two possible solutions below:

    • Disable the integrated (or switchable) adapter in your computer BIOS to force the system to use only the high-end graphics. The bios setting may be labeled along the lines of “default video,” “integrated video,” “Intel video,” “Optimus,” or “Enduro.”
    • From your video driver control panel, manually set the proper GPU for AutoCAD to use (see Crash on systems with integrated (Intel HD) and discrete GPUs (NVIDIA/AMD)).
    • On non-mobile systems the video driver control panel might not have the option to choose the proper GPU. In this case uninstall the drivers for the unwanted graphic card and use a group policy to prevent Windows from re-installing the driver (Group Policy for Beginners)

Google earth can be imported into SketchUp.

    1. You can preview your model in Google Earth

    2. You can import Google Earth Files (.kmz) into SketchUp

    3. You can add a “geo location” to your model which will bring Google Earth landscape into SketchUp — you can then model on top of it, and I think there is one extension that can help you create buildings from it. But you can quickly model from a google earth image

Simulation software can help engineers optimize heat transfer in their designs. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations take into account both heat transfer and fluid flow. CFD analysis can return both visual and technical data to help you create designs that use energy more effectively.

You can perform this type of analysis using or and auto desk simulation multiphysics software. See more about simulation for sustanyial desigh

If you’re talking about light gaming and no crazy 5000 part assemblies in CAD, then sure. I have gotten Inventor Pro to work on the integrated chip in an i7–4510U, and it also runs fine on my laptop with a GTX 960M which is definitely a weaker card than the 1050 Ti.

    • Use PASTECLIP to move the copied objects from the Clipboard to a location in the same document or to another document.
    • When you paste an object copied with COPYBASE, it is placed relative to the specified base point.

No, HATCH command requires some sort of selection of objects or spaces: you can explore using QSELECT or FILTER or SELECTSIMILAR commands to create such selections based on whatever criteria they all share in common.

AFAIK you can select more than one at the same time, you just need to be aware of your hatch “island detection” settings of these objects overlap. Also look up and set HPSEPARATE variable to what you need.

Modify Mesh Objects by Changing Properties

Mesh objects have additional properties that control the level of smoothness and creases. Crease properties of face, edge, and vertex subobjects are also reflected in the Properties palette.

    • Level of Smoothness. Smooths or sharpens the edges of a mesh object.
    • Crease Type. Specifies the presence of a crease (or sharpened edge) and the effect of smoothing. Smoothing does not affect a crease with a value of Always. A crease set to By Level retains its sharpness until the mesh object is smoothed to the specified crease level.
    • Crease Level. When a crease is set to By Level, indicates the smoothing level at which the crease starts to lose its sharpness.

    Modify 3D Subobject Properties

In addition to solids, surfaces, and meshes, you can also use the Properties palette to modify the properties of individual subobjects, such as faces, edges, and vertices. Different properties are available for different types of subobjects.

In some cases, the application of properties can differ depending on the object type. For example, you can modify the properties of mesh faces, including their color. However, the color appearance of a mesh face might differ from the equivalent color on a 3D solid face. This difference occurs because changing the color of a face modifies the diffuse color of the face, but not the ambient color (which is derived from the mesh material property). To obtain a closer match between the color of 3D solid and mesh faces, you can add lights and turn off the default lighting (which disables ambient lighting). You can also try assigning a material that has the same ambient and diffuse color.
