What are your favourite AutoCAD shortcuts?

Hello CAD Answers, what are your most favorite commands in AutoCAD?
What are the most helpful ones?

Here are my favourites:
MIRROR – Creates a mirrored copy of selected objects.
TRIM – Trims objects to meet the edges of other objects
EXPLODE – Breaks a compound object into its component objects
COPY – Copies objects a specified distance in a specified direction

I find they come in very handy when doing repetitive tasks.

Hi Magi,

The commands you mentioned are quite helpful and used everyday but they are so basic that I do not think that they are my favorite, I’d think I’d be more in love with other commands such as the :

Purge – Just because it removes all the unused clutter in my work area and the workspace looks much cleaner after using it

SmartPurger– Another Clean up tool that is a little bit more neat and efficient

OverKill – Sometimes but be careful it sometimes merges objects you do not want to get merged

Audit – to Fix all that nasty errors

There are a few more on my list actually 😀

I’ll post again tomorrow, I realized there’s just so much more to it 😀

My best discovery so far is that commands can have aliases, for example I used to type CO for Copy, a Major helpful tip is that you can actually change the command’s Alias (The “CO” Part), I changed it to only C

Here’s how you can do it:

Good luck guys

Thanks EngineerLife,

You can edit command Aliases from:

tool>customize>edit program parameters (acad.pgp)

acad.pgp

I found out that by changing The column on the right you can change the command shortcut

My top 3 would have to be:

QSELECT – when there are just too many elements on screen and you need to single out specific ones

PURGE – just to clean up the file

OVERKILL – also to clean up, this time with lines and drawing elements
