Text problems, help!

Does anyone have any idea what would cause text that I created in my model space to disappear from my model space immediately after finalizing it, but still appear in my layout/paper space.

The text in question is setup as an annotative object with 2.000 paper height and scaled to 1:100. I have other text on the same layer using the same settings that appears perfectly fine. I tried selecting all objects in my drawing and scaling them, but I am still unable to find the text in question anywhere. Any thoughts?

PS: I am using AutoCAD 2017.

TL:DR text object appears in layout/paper space, but is non existent in model space where it was created.

Hi there,

Please set ANNOALLVISIBLE to 1 using the COMMAND line

You can change the scale down in the bottom right. That is the scale (whether in model space or inside a viewport) that will be added to the annotative object (could be text, dim, mleader, block, or hatch).

You can add more scales either by editing the object itself, and you’ll see an “annotative scales” in the properties. Or what I find easier is using the “add current scale” command under the Annotation tab.

hope this helps 🙂

If you’re still having trouble recreating the original text or making it visible, just copy and paste the existing visible text you have and edit that; you mentioned there are text objects in the same layer with the same settings that are visible. That way, you’re sure that the text is visible.
