Text Only Appears In Sheet & Is Not Clickable

Hey guys I’m doing some freelance work in AutoCAD, and it’s been a few years since I’ve touched the program. There are a lot of text & multi-leaders that are not view-able in the model space, but appear on the sheets. When I’m in the sheet view the text elements are not interact-able and cannot be clicked. Is there a command that is hiding layers or locking text features?

Hi there RedditUser

Cause:

Text is either annotative or your current settings are not showing all annotative objects or all the text and stuff is in paper space on the layout tab

Solution:
Try switching to paper space on a layout tab and try selecting stuff there.

Hope this helps

If the text objects aren’t viewable in model space, it might be worth checking out the visibility of the layers. Type in “LA” in the command prompt to open up the layers dialogue.

Another possibility is that the scale of the layout tab you’re in might have made it so that the text is too small for you to see. Try selecting all (Ctrl+A) and then typing in “QSELECT” in the command line; from there, tweak the settings so you’re only selecting text objects. If you check out the properties, you can see how many text objects you have selected and can even change their scale collectively.
