How To Select Correct Scaling factor when copying and pasting?

I do a Ctrl c and try to paste with Ctrl v and it scales it by 12… so I then scale it down by 1/12 so its goes back to original form. need help fixing this problem. I have autocad 2015

Hi there tino,

try the following procedure

  1. Select an object and press CTRL+C to copy it into the clipboard
  2. Press CTRL+V to paste in the object
  3. At the prompt “Specify insertion point:” type X and press ENTER
  4. Enter the desired scale factor and press ENTER
  5. Specify the Insertion point

Note: If you do not specify a different Y Scale factor, the scale factor you enter for X will automatically be applied in the Y direction too.

If you do want to specify a Y Scale factor that is different from the X scale factor, enter Y followed by pressing the ENTER key after step 4.
