Recommended PC setup for SolidWorks

I am looking into buying a laptop for cad and simulations. I am looking into getting a New Dell xps 15 ( i7-10750H, 16 or 32gb ram, 1650 Ti).

That would mainly be for when I am not at my desk, I already have a GTX 1080 and a Razer core which I would keep at my desk for more powerful needs.

What do you think about that?

I could bring my pc to college but I do not really want to have a desktop pc at college.

I also was thinking of maybe selling my 1080 and purchasing a lower tier Quadro card.  All of this is for mechanical engineering major. I will either be going to Virginia tech, Purdue, or UCF,  and mostly looking at Virginia Tech. They use lots of programs like Solidworks, Matlab, Sas Jmp Pro. I am wondering if that would be suitable and decently future-proof.

Can I ask what your primary use for Solidworks would be? As in, what kind of models are you going to be making?
