I’m struggling with 1 corner of my shape and it’s driving me nuts.

Hi,

I’m completely out of ideas, I’m new to autocad and I cannot seem to get one corner of my shape to fillet properly. If anyone could help me out and explain how to get the corner rounded I would really appreciate it. Attached is the autocad file and images of the real shape I am trying to replicate.

Thanks!

I’d love an explanation of how you fixed it, I want to learn from this. Merry Christmas!

Yes, It’s a pain sometimes, just keep trying to do it, from the angle point

Can’t seem to find the attached image, but when I have issues with fillets, it’s usually because of one of three things:

  • The angle of the adjoining edges
  • The lengths of the adjoining lines
  • The set radius of the fillet

Play around with the three of those and you’ll figure out what the issue is.

Additionally, if the fillet tool just isn’t working for you, you can manually create a fillet by offsetting the lines inward to the radius of your desired fillet. Create an arc centered at the point where those two new offset lines intersect and set its radius accordingly. After that, it’s just a matter of trimming and cleaning up.
