How does Solidbuilder compare to SolidWorks?
The two applications are not really comparable when analysing them feature vs. feature.
SolidWorks is massively more feature rich, it has a large team of developers behind their software and the rate of innovation has been impressive.
But this means there is a much steeper learning curve. One of SolidBuilder’s marketing points is that it is created ‘by builders for builders’ as such you can expect a more shallow learning curve.
I also recommend considering the fact that SolidWorks has a huge community of users. With a wealth of community-generated learning resources, tutorials and free downloads. Some examples are:
- Non official – SolidWorks Tutorials Youtube channel:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtwaWPOXEBysZLh1rrPzwFw
- Non official – SolidWorks Community Files at GrabCAD https://grabcad.com/library
- Non official – SolidWorks blog: http://www.javelin-tech.com/blog/
Finally, pricing will vastly differ between the two solutions. I assume that you’re considering SolidBuilder due to cost more than anything else.
Choosing which solution is right for you will be dependent on what’s most important to you.
You should try both before purchasing. Here’s the relevent links to both:

Does that help?
