[Help] Would like to know if i can save a specific shape (an arrow) on the tool pallet?

At my job I am currently pasting an arrow head on lines then rotating them. I was wondering if their was a way to put that arrow (or any shape) on the tool pallet and have it automatically paste and rotate when i place it.

Check out this screencast for a video on creating a custom multileader. Notice the orientation of the block being used. It may take a few tries to get you arrow head the right size and orientation.

You can make the arrow into a block definition and just drag & drop the block onto whatever tool palette you want. If you want to be able to rotate it with a grip or something you would need to make it into a dynamic block with a polar parameter. It’s kind of hard to explain how to do that but I’ve gotten it working before.

Thanks for steering me in the right direction I don’t know whole lot about blocks but now at least I know what to learn about.

Look into the WBlock command. That will save it in an external file that you can insert into any DWG.

The interesting thing with blocks is that it works just like how components work in SketchUp – if you edit one instance of the block, all instances in the project will change accordingly.

I believe you can also add your custom arrow heads to leaders by creating a block and in ‘dimstyle’ set your block as the new arrow/tick mark

Is it a different arrow head needed than that on a leader? If not: leader, enter, enter, none.
