Convert font to polyline

Hey All, I am using a laser cutter to design a cut out sign of a name using a custom font ( Jasmine Reminiscentse). I need to get the outline of the font and have tried everything, explode does nothing or changed back to standard text style. I have googled other solutions I don’t have TXTEXP or WMFOUT options.

I am using Autocad 2017 but also have 2015 version available. Please help!

Yep you need the TXTEXP command. I’m 99.9% sure it’s in AutoCAD 2017.

Are you on Windows or macOS? There’a a chance that it’s missing on macOS.

And are you using the full version of the LT version?

For what it’s worth – if readers aren’t using AutoCAD –  We wrote a help article over at Scan2CAD for this question where I list some of the ways of converting custom fonts to polylines with common graphic design software: Converting a design with custom fonts

If all else fails, you can always try to manually trace over the font with AutoCAD’s draft tools. Not the fastest or most efficient method by any means, but always a reliable last resort if you have the time and patience for it.
