How to Convert AutoCAD 2D Objects to 3D?

Answered

I am just starting out and I can only draw in 2D,

so how do you guys start drawing in 3D?

Do You actually draw in 3D, or just use extrude?

if so, how do you do it?

thanks.

There are many different ways to obtain a 3D Object:

Extrude – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zScegtMo2-w

Revolve – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnD9Lh7k5qg

Sweep – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oy5y0yEhUXo

Start by those, but those are the main commands out there

SolidWorks is the best one to convert 2D CAD to 3D solid work, where can export SolidWorks drawings to DXF/DWG files, including mapping objects to layers and colors.

Import a 2D drawing into a sketch in a SolidWorks part; extract views into separate sketches for extruding into a base feature, then continue to add features. The 2D to 3D conversion process is usually faster than redesigning the part in SolidWorks.
