Can I safely downgrade from AutoCAD 2018 to AutoCAD 2016?

I am using AutoCAD 2018 and I am facing problems with my system.

I have AutoCAD 2016 and I’m thinking of downgrading to this version which should solve my system problems but can I safely downgrade? Will my AutoCAD 2018 drawings open in AutoCAD 2016?

Unfortunately, you can’t open up any DWG files that were saved by a more recent version of AutoCAD. You can, however, down save! Just save your file on AutoCAD 2018 as an AutoCAD 2016 file or earlier.
