CAD DWG or DXF automatic manipulation or convert from PNG/JPG/SVG

I am working with a client that sells metal art. One of their big sellers are monograms. For example they have a design of a letter and inside the letter people can put their last name in when placing an order. Example: the letter W might be on a design and has an area in the middle where a person with the last name of WILLIAMS could enter that on the website. The website does a good job of reflecting what the finished product should look like. However, they currently have to manually create the CAD files for this. The question is, does anyone know if a CAD file can be created by converting either a PNG or JPG file to either DWG or DXF? Or could we have a CAD file in place and dynamically update the CAD file with the name the customer enters?  This would reduce mistakes having the files ready to go from the site and cut the metal.

Thanks

That’s exactly what Scan2CAD is for.

Anything can be achieved with development. You could hire developers to build such a solution but it’s not going to be fast or cheap.

Good luck!

You can try checking out SketchUp if you’re interested in dynamically creating CAD models of text. It has a function that creates 3D models of text based on what you type in. If you have the Pro version, it lets you export the SketchUp model as a DWG or DXF file.
