Any suggestions on CAD program for Mac?
APERTURE, Visual Information Manager went out of business a while back. As a user for many years, I am currently seeking another basic 2D CAD program for Mac in order to restart my work. Any suggestions?
AutoCAD is the industry standard for 2D CAD work for both PC and Mac. I personally know a lot of Mac users that seem to be really happy with it. You should give it a try.
AutoCAD has always been the basic answer to my question. But AutoCAD operate totally different than Aperture. It is a simple drawing program: what you see is what you get; what you draw is what you get. AutoCAD is a cross-haired program that is much more complex and has multiple off-shoots/directions that are difficult to follow. KISS, keep it simple stupid is what I am seeking. Thanks for your suggestion but it really is not a good substitute.
If you’re looking for simple, try out TinkerCAD or SketchUp. They’re mainly 3D drafting programs but as far as I know, they’re touted as two of the easiest to learn CAD programs available out there.
TinkerCAD is free but is web browser-based so you’ll need to be online to use it. SketchUp can run offline but you’ll need to purchase a license for it.
Many thanks! I had never heard of TinkerCAD but will now seek it out.
