Hey Mike,
I will assume that you’re after free learning resources for AutoCAD rather than the premium lessons available.
Most people find it’s easiest to learn software visually by following along with videos. There are many thousands of AutoCAD tutorial videos on Youtube so you need to be able to find the high quality content.
You mentioned you’re using AutoCAD 2015 LT – I also wouldn’t worry too much if the video you’re watching isn’t using the exact release of AutoCAD you own. The differences in the releases won’t hold you up.
I would recommend checking out this AutoCAD Tutorial for Beginners video which starts at the complete basics and has had over 1.5 million views with mostly positive feedback.
When you begin to feel more fluent in AutoCAD why not try designing something by following along with a Instructables tutorial http://www.instructables.com/tag/type-id/category-technology/keyword-autocad/

Hey Conor,
Great question!
‘Straightness’ can be a subjective term to define. In short, the profile of a line describes the ‘area of tolerance’ of the object.
gdandtbasics.com is a great resource for GD&T questions. Here’s the relevent article for your question: http://www.gdandtbasics.com/profile-of-a-line/
Does that help?
