Out of curiosity, have you already tried contacting the customer support for Starcam or Aspire? What did they have to say about the issue?

AutoCAD is the industry standard for 2D CAD work for both PC and Mac. I personally know a lot of Mac users that seem to be really happy with it. You should give it a try.

As an update, I recently came across a website called Archinect. If you’re working in the architecture industry and have a decent body of work (a portfolio is necessary to register an account to the website), it seems like a pretty decent site for CAD, architecture, and design-specific job postings.

I don’t know if this helps at all but NASA has a webpage of open-source code and simulation frameworks that they use for their own remote missions – https://code.nasa.gov/

If you’re looking for more in-depth tutorials or tips, ones that can’t simply be expressed in command lists, you’re best checking out various tips and tricks on YouTube. It’s always best to actually see the operation being run on video.

Unsure if AutoCAD 3D is the best software to do complicated operations like this. I think you might be better off using dedicated 3D modeling programs. Blender has some great tools for stuff like this. I hear Fusion 360 and Solidworks are great, if those are within your budget.

When this happened to me before, I researched and found out that it had something to do with Microsoft .NET Framework. What type of file were you trying to insert?

It might depend on what your needs are. Are you looking for a 3D CAD program? Are you hoping for simulation functionality? Would you be okay with just a simple drafting software?
